Why Your Vehicle Needs Regular Maintenance

Your engine handles an incredible amount of stress, especially when you factor in Michigan's brutal freeze-thaw cycles, dust, and demanding local roads. Over time, motor oil naturally breaks down, gathers dirt, and loses its ability to lubricate your engine's moving parts. Skipping regular service leads to harsh friction, heavy sludge build-up, dropped fuel mileage, and eventually, catastrophic engine failure. Taking care of it on time isn't just a recommendation; it is the single smartest thing you can do to prevent massive, unexpected repair bills down the road.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer full synthetic or just conventional oil changes?

We offer both. Some vehicles run better — and longer — on full synthetic, and we'll tell you honestly which one your car actually needs, not just the one that costs more.

How long does an oil change take?

Most oil changes at Wilder's are quick — you can often wait right here while we take care of it. If your vehicle needs a closer look at anything else, we'll let you know before we start, not after.

Can I get my oil changed and my brakes checked at the same time?

Yes. A lot of drivers stop in for an oil change and have us take a quick look at the brakes while the car's already up — saves you a second trip. We'll only recommend brake work if it's actually needed.

Do you do oil changes on diesel engines?

Yes, we handle diesel oil changes too. Diesel engines have their own service needs, and after 40+ years working on vehicles in and around Hastings, we know the difference.
